The goal of Economic Development is to strengthen and broaden the economic base of the community and commercial district.
This committee works in conjunction with the Business Improvement Committee as needed, working to strengthen and broaden the economic development of the community, through improved housing, developing a plan for residential growth, and finding new uses for vacant or under developed property within the community. Works with the City to improve infrastructure, tourist opportunities, and business opportunities.
Economic Development is currently applying to become part of Dakota Resources' Home Address program, which helps communities build their capacity to create strategic housing solutions now and in the future. It understands that housing development is more than building houses, it's building community.
